Know in real time what's going on in politics and the media, without a paywall

Can you make sure that we are continuously, real-time updated on the most important developments in news and politics? And can you do that in such a way that we don't keep running into a paywall when we want to click through to a news article (and it does make sense legally)? With that question, one of our clients came to Castro last year. After a three-month pilot period, we are now running "for real" for several clients. Thanks to a pleasant collaboration with Polpo and Monalyse.

Monitoring by Castro, in collaboration with Polpo and Monalyse

Why monitoring?
Information spreads at lightning speed. There is a constant and partly uncontrolled flow of news, opinions and policy developments. In order to act quickly and effectively, it is important to be constantly well informed. Ideally, of course, you should be well prepared, but anno 2024 not everything can be predicted. Sometimes you see certain developments or decisions coming your way, but there are also numerous examples where decisions or actions of an important stakeholder were unexpected for a company or organization. If you find out (too) late, you are immediately behind schedule or even too late.

What does the Castro monitoring look like?
In monitoring, Castro distinguishes between two areas: media monitoring and political monitoring. It's obvious where the difference lies: in media monitoring, we keep you informed about what's going on in the media. You receive real-time alerts when your company or organization or an important topic is mentioned. With political monitoring, we keep you informed about political decision-making. This enables you to keep your finger on the pulse of policy changes, legislative processes and public opinions on political topics. European, national and local.

The benefits of monitoring by Castro:

Flexible
We adapt to the needs of our clients. Some want a combination of media and political monitoring, others just one of the two. And the frequency also varies: we have daily monitoring for those who want to receive a clear overview daily for themselves and colleagues, and weekly overviews for those whose frequency may be lower.

Always clear, with interpretation if required
Some clients are already very familiar with the background to discussions and decision-making, while others are even less familiar with the political landscape. Here, too, Castro provides tailor-made solutions: we're happy to explain the context if that's what they want, and obviously don't do it if it doesn't add any value.

Efficiency through automation
Automation is the basis of monitoring for Castro Communications. Using algorithms and AI, we scan hundreds of sources simultaneously and filter the most relevant information. Together, we tailor the searches to specific keywords and sources. This not only saves a significant amount of time, but also increases relevance and accuracy.

Real-time monitoring and alerts
Our real-time alerts allow you to immediately alert and react to relevant news items or political developments. So in addition to the daily or weekly overview, you can also receive instant notifications all day, every day. Without you receiving a high bill because an employee is F5'ing all day.

Accessibility: articles without paywall
It is a well-known and widely shared annoyance: you get a link of a media article and immediately encounter a paywall. Annoying, because you cannot read the article in question and most likely you do not have a subscription to all newspapers and magazines. And logical at the same time, because journalism has to be paid, and nothing goes for nothing. At Castro, we can provide almost all articles in our news section without a paywall and do so legally while respecting copyright. Because the media should also be able to earn a living.
